R&D Engineer IC Design
Role Summary
Work on SoC DFT activities for Broadcom APD designs across DFT architecture, test insertion and verification, pattern generation, coverage improvement, and post-silicon debug to meet product test metrics.
The role involves collaboration with Physical Design & STA for DFT-mode timing closure and may include interaction with external customers and cross-geography teams.
Experience Level
Senior - experience guidance: Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical ownership of DFT features and coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Define and implement DFT architecture for SoC designs.
- Insert and verify DFT structures (ATPG, MBIST, JTAG).
- Generate test patterns and improve coverage.
- Perform vector simulation and post-silicon debug to improve yield and meet test metrics.
- Work with Physical Design & STA for DFT-mode timing closure.
- Collaborate with multiple geographic teams and external customers as required.
- Mentor or supervise other team members and handle tasks independently.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of DFT concepts and methodologies (ATPG, MBIST, JTAG).
- Proven experience in DFT insertion, verification, pattern generation, coverage improvement, and vector simulation.
- Experience in post-silicon debug and yield improvement; strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to coordinate with Physical Design & STA for timing closure.
- Ability to work independently, supervise team members, and communicate effectively.
- Nice-to-have: scripting experience (Perl, shell) and familiarity with Siemens/Mentor Graphics DFT tools (TestKompress, Fastscan).
