R&D Engineer — IC Design
Role Summary
Design and develop ASICs and complex integrated circuits. Lead architecture, logic design, verification, and documentation across the ASIC development lifecycle.
Serve as a technical leader in the IC design team in Bangalore, coordinating simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, timing and power optimization, and cross-functional activities.
Experience Level
Level: Senior. Experience guidance from the posting: Bachelor's +8 years, Master's +6 years, or PhD +3 years.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define architecture and module interfaces for ASIC designs and system simulations.
- Perform logic design, RTL development, and verification.
- Drive synthesis, placement & routing, and timing and power analysis and optimization.
- Lead complex design projects and coordinate cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers and act as an escalation point for technical issues.
- Contribute to documentation, equipment evaluation, and experimental testing as needed.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Proven experience in ASIC/IC design and the full digital design flow (architecture, RTL, simulation, synthesis, P&R).
- Strong expertise in timing closure, power analysis, and performance optimization.
- Experience with system-level simulation and defining module interfaces/formats.
- Demonstrated project leadership and ability to deliver major design projects.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and influence cross-team decisions.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience evaluating vendor capabilities and coordinating external support.
- Familiarity with physical layout considerations for complex ICs.
