Role Summary
Design and verify front-end ASIC cores, including architecture definition, RTL design, synthesis, and verification. Work within a cross-functional chip team to deliver timing-closure-ready RTL and support physical implementation feedback.
Experience Level
Senior β typical experience expectation: Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years related experience, or Master's degree plus 6+ years related experience.
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Define architecture and implement RTL logic blocks from system requirements.
- Create synthesis constraints and run synthesis flows for design blocks.
- Perform design verification using simulation and formal methods; debug RTL and gate-level simulations.
- Analyze timing from physical implementation (e.g., PrimeTime) and drive timing closure.
- Coordinate with physical design, verification, and system teams to resolve integration issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and tools experience:
- Proficiency in TCL and Perl scripting for EDA flow automation.
- Synthesis experience with Synopsys Design Compiler/DC topo or Cadence RTL Compiler.
- Timing analysis experience with Synopsys PrimeTime for high-frequency designs.
- Familiarity with liberty (LIB) timing models and timing constraints.
- Experience with formal verification tools (e.g., Synopsys Formality, Cadence Conformal).
- Static lint and design quality tools (e.g., Spyglass) and RTL/gate-level power analysis experience.
- Knowledge of DFT and scan methodology.
- Version control experience (SVN or Git).
Nice-to-have:
- Prior work on high-frequency or high-performance ASIC blocks.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (BS/MS) or equivalent practical experience. Posting specifies: Bachelor's +8+ years experience, or Master's +6+ years experience.
