Role Summary
Engineer responsible for front-end ASIC core design and verification, covering architecture definition, RTL design, synthesis, simulation, and formal verification.
Works with cross-functional teams to deliver timing-closed, production-quality RTL for high-frequency designs and supports debug from RTL through gate-level implementation.
Experience Level
Senior β typically Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years of related experience.
Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Define architecture and implement logic blocks from system requirements.
- Develop synthesis scripts and constraints; run synthesis using industry tools.
- Perform functional verification via simulation and formal verification methods.
- Analyze post-layout timing and work to achieve timing closure for high-frequency designs.
- Simulate, debug, and troubleshoot RTL and gate-level behavior using Verilog simulation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proficiency in scripting (TCL, Perl).
- Experience with synthesis tools such as Synopsys Design Compiler/DC topo or Cadence RTL Compiler.
- Timing analysis experience with Synopsys PrimeTime for high-frequency designs.
- Familiarity with liberty (LIB) timing models and timing signoff flow.
- Experience with formal verification tools (e.g., Synopsys Formality, Cadence Conformal).
- Lint and power analysis experience at RTL and gate netlist levels (e.g., Spyglass).
- Knowledge of DFT and scan methodology.
- Version control experience (SVN, Git) and ability to work independently and in teams.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is specified; posting allows equivalent practical experience. Typical experience guidance: Bachelor's +8+ years or Master's +6+ years.
