Role Summary

Work on front-end ASIC core design and verification including architecture definition, RTL logic design, synthesis, and verification using simulation and formal methods. The role partners with implementation, timing, and verification teams to deliver silicon-ready blocks for high-frequency designs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification and timing closure for ASIC cores.

• Define architecture and implement RTL logic blocks from system requirements.
• Create synthesis constraints and run synthesis flows for design blocks.
• Perform functional verification using simulation and formal verification tools.
• Analyze post-route timing and drive timing closure with implementation teams.
• Simulate, debug, and triage RTL and gate-level issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools experience for front-end ASIC design and verification.

• Proficiency in scripting (TCL, Perl) for EDA flows and automation.
• Experience with synthesis tools such as Synopsys Design Compiler or Cadence RTL Compiler.
• Timing analysis experience with Synopsys PrimeTime for high-frequency designs.
• Working knowledge of liberty (LIB) timing models.
• Experience with formal verification tools (e.g., Synopsys Formality, Cadence Conformal).
• Familiarity with static lint tools (e.g., Spyglass) and power analysis at RTL/gate-level.
• Understanding of DFT and scan methodology.
• Version control experience (SVN, Git) and ability to work across cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have: exposure to additional EDA flows, advanced low-power or high-speed design techniques.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (the posting also accepts equivalent practical experience). Specific experience guidance from the source: a Bachelor's with ~8+ years of related experience or a Master's with ~6+ years of related experience.
