R&D Engineer, IC Design 4

Role Summary

Engineer responsible for front-end ASIC core design and verification, including architecture definition, RTL logic design, synthesis, and verification using simulation and formal methods. Works with physical implementation and timing teams to achieve timing closure.

Position requires independent execution of design tasks and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical hiring guidance in the posting: Bachelor's with 8+ years of related experience or Master's with 6+ years.

Responsibilities

Key day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Define architecture and design logic blocks from system requirements.
• Develop RTL, constraints, and perform synthesis for design blocks.
• Perform design verification using simulation and formal verification methods.
• Analyze timing reports from physical implementation and drive timing closure.
• Simulate and debug designs using Verilog simulation environments.
• Collaborate with implementation, verification, and system teams to deliver production-ready IP.

Requirements

Minimum and preferred technical skills (education summarized below):

• Must-have: Strong front-end ASIC design and verification experience (architecture, RTL, synthesis, verification).
• Proficient with Verilog simulation and design debug.
• Experience with synthesis tools such as Synopsys Design Compiler / DC or Cadence RTL Compiler.
• Timing analysis experience with PrimeTime and working knowledge of liberty (.lib) timing models.
• Experience with formal verification tools (e.g., Synopsys Formality or Cadence Conformal).
• Familiarity with DFT/scan methodology and power analysis at RTL and gate level.
• Ability to work independently and across teams to meet project schedules.
• Nice-to-have: TCL/Perl scripting, Spyglass lint experience, and version control with SVN or Git.

Education Requirements
