Quantum Error Correction Software Engineer

Role Summary

The role sits on the Quantum System Architecture & Software team within Intel's Quantum Computing program. The engineer will lead research and software development of quantum error correction (QEC) protocols and implement optimized code for Intel quantum hardware constraints.

Experience Level

Mid-level (Experienced Hire). The posting requests at least 1+ years of relevant experience in quantum error correction alongside advanced research experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on designing QEC protocols and producing production-quality software tuned to hardware constraints.

  • Lead development and optimization of software implementing quantum error correcting codes for Intel hardware constraints.
  • Research and develop QEC protocols aimed at fully fault-tolerant quantum computing systems.
  • Analyze hardware/software trade-offs and evaluate alternative technologies and implementations.

Requirements

  • Must-have: Practical experience developing or optimizing software to operate within hardware constraints (implementation-focused).
  • Nice-to-have: Industrial quantum computing experience (1+ years).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience researching and developing QEC codes tailored to specific hardware constraints.

Education Requirements
