Quantronics Solutions Architect

Role Summary

Provide strategic technical leadership at the intersection of quantum, photonics, and electronic design automation (EDA). Engage directly with customers to define high‑impact solutions using Cadence platforms, shape project scope and deliverables, and coordinate execution across services, R&D, and customer teams.

The role advances Cadence’s quantronics capabilities by developing deep product and domain expertise, influencing roadmap priorities, and accelerating tool and methodology innovation.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include technical leadership, customer engagement, and cross-team execution:

  • Engage with customers to understand complex technical and business challenges and define solution scope.
  • Design and propose Cadence-based solutions that integrate quantum, photonics, and electronic design flows.
  • Define project deliverables, investment needs, and success criteria; scope work and manage priorities.
  • Partner with services leadership and R&D to identify tool requirements and influence product roadmaps.
  • Coordinate execution across internal teams and customer stakeholders to deliver projects.
  • Develop deep expertise in adapting Cadence platforms to emerging quantronics technologies.
  • Collaborate with R&D to accelerate tool, methodology, and solution innovation.

Requirements

Technical and interpersonal skills required and preferred for success in the role.

  • Must-have: Knowledge of quantum, superconducting, and photonics technologies.
  • Must-have: Strong knowledge of analog and RF EDA flows.
  • Must-have: Strong customer-facing communication, problem solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with Unix and shell environments; scripting experience useful.
  • Preferred: Experience with Perl or other scripting languages.
  • Preferred tool familiarity: Simulators (Spectre, AMS, Xcelium); implementation tools (Virtuoso; Innovus and APD preferred); analysis tools (Celsius, Clarity, Sigrity).
  • Self-driven continuous learner with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education Requirements

Posting specifies: Bachelor's degree with at least 16–25 years of design/EDA experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 15 years of experience; Master’s degree preferred.
