Quality Assurance - Long Term Internship
Role Summary
Six-month, hands-on internship on the Quality Assurance team for Siemens EDA software. The role focuses on executing manual and automated tests, documenting defects, supporting regression testing, and validating product functionality in collaboration with development and product teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). Intended for 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate students; practical internship experience for 6 months.
Responsibilities
Perform testing and support QA activities under guidance from experienced QA engineers.
- Execute manual and automated test cases to identify defects and ensure software quality.
- Document test results, bugs, and issues clearly and organize defect reports.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and validate functionality.
- Participate in test planning and strategy discussions with the QA team.
- Support regression testing and release-quality assurance processes.
- Learn and apply QA best practices and industry-standard methodologies.
Requirements
Core technical skills and communication abilities required; optional skills are listed as assets.
- Must-have: Practical knowledge of IC physical design, layout, verification tools, and IC manufacturing concepts.
- Must-have: Good scripting skills (shell, Perl, Tcl/Tk, or Python).
- Must-have: Strong programming background.
- Must-have: Good communication skills and ability to present ideas and share knowledge.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with web development or machine learning.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
Education Requirements
3rd or 4th year undergraduate students in Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering departments (undergraduate enrollment required).
