Job Title

Project Manager, Crypto & Security Competence Center (m/f/d)

Role Summary

Member of the Project Management Office for the Crypto & Security Competence Center. Represents the Crypto and Security Group in cross-functional product development teams and coordinates security-related activities from concept through security certification.

Primary mission: ensure security goals, schedules, risks and issues are tracked and closed in a timely manner across global projects.

Experience Level

Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). The posting does not specify required years of experience; relevant semiconductor project-management experience is expected.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include coordinating security activities, communicating schedule and risks, and supporting the product development lifecycle through to certification.

  • Act as Crypto & Security Group representative on product development projects from concept to security certification; track security-related activities.
  • Support product teams in applying the Competence Center project methodology.
  • Facilitate project calls with global, cross-functional teams to drive progress and resolve security issues.
  • Serve as first-line contact for escalation of security issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Prepare Security Group reports for project milestone reviews.
  • Create top-level project plans with milestones, timelines, and ownership; monitor status and ensure security goals are met.
  • Identify security risks, question assumptions, and ensure mitigation steps are executed.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills to perform the role; followed by preferred skills.

  • Proven project-management experience within the semiconductor industry.
  • Demonstrated management skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Experience with project-management tools (e.g., MS Project or similar).
  • General understanding of embedded system design and architectural definition.
  • Strong systematic and organizational skills; able to manage complex environments and track status.
  • Calm under pressure, comfortable taking ownership in ambiguous situations.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary (typically 1–2 times per year).
  • Location: role is based at NXP sites in Glasgow (United Kingdom) or Gratkorn (Austria).

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of security concepts and standards such as ISO 21434 and IEC 62443, including cryptography.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Security Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
