Project Engineering Management, Sr Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Senior program and project manager responsible for leading the full program engineering lifecycle across multiple interdependent projects within the SerDes project management department. The role focuses on planning, execution, risk management, reporting, and improving project management practices to ensure timely delivery of technical programs.
Works with cross-functional engineering teams, sponsors, and senior leadership to align scope, schedule, budget, and technical objectives for complex semiconductor/IP projects.

Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate program-level activities to deliver connected engineering projects on schedule, on budget, and to technical requirements.
- Lead program lifecycle: initiation, definition, planning, execution, monitoring and closure across multiple projects.
- Monitor and control program budgets, schedules, risks, issues and scope; drive corrective actions to meet milestones.
- Implement and refine program/project management standards, tools and methodologies.
- Identify organizational needs and manage stakeholder expectations; build trust-based relationships with internal and external partners.
- Run regular status reviews with cross-functional teams, project managers, sponsors and stakeholders; align priorities and deliverables.
- Coach and mentor Project Engineering Managers; promote collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate cross-project activities within the SerDes program portfolio to maximize synergy and impact.
- Prepare internal and external reporting for senior leadership to support decision-making and visibility.
Requirements

Must-have: 5+ years of program/project management experience in engineering, preferably in semiconductor, IP, or ASIC design environments.

Must-have: Strong understanding of IP and SoC development processes and lifecycle aspects.

Must-have: Hands-on experience with UNIX environments, MS Project and MS Excel for planning and tracking.

Must-have: Experience implementing or improving project management methodologies and tools in a matrix organization.

Must-have: Proven stakeholder management, risk identification/mitigation and cross-functional coordination skills.

Preferred: Experience with Business Intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) for reporting and analysis.

Preferred: Demonstrated ability to coach and develop other project managers and lead program-level change.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Formal project management certification or demonstrable equivalent experience (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) is indicated as required/preferred in the posting.
