Program Manager/Engineer - Embedded Processing

Role Summary

Lead cross-functional teams to plan and execute new microcontroller product developments from opportunity assessment through release to market, ensuring schedule, cost, quality, and return on investment.

Work across design, validation, manufacturing, test, firmware/software, product engineering and external fabs/assembly/test partners to drive on-time product delivery and qualification for automotive and industrial applications.

Experience Level

Entry / Early Career - requires a minimum of 2+ years of engineering experience with project engineering or program management on complex products.

Responsibilities

Manage program execution and coordinate all stakeholders to deliver qualified products and meet ROI targets.

• Lead cross-functional program teams (Design, Marketing, Systems, Validation, Product & Test, Firmware/Software, Manufacturing, Field, Quality).
• Plan projects using MS Project from Assess Opportunity through Release to Market and manage project budgets.
• Coordinate wafer fabrication, assembly and test sites to meet schedule, cost and quality targets.
• Develop and implement qualification plans; perform product reliability and characterization to meet specs and manufacturing requirements.
• Work with failure analysis to determine root cause of reliability/qualification failures.
• Maintain current project schedules, milestones and the Galileo system per new product development guidelines.
• Coordinate material logistics and production/test prioritization for samples and ramps.
• Provide weekly/monthly status updates to senior management and interact with customers on milestones, deliveries and special requests.

• 2+ years of engineering experience with project engineering/management on complex products/projects.
• Proven leadership and ability to influence multifaceted global organizations and indirect reports.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across design, fabrication, test, qualification and production ramp.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States; Texas Instruments will not sponsor visa applicants for this position.

Nice-to-have:

• Knowledge of device packaging and wafer fabrication processes.
• Familiarity with reliability requirements, tri-temperature characterization methodology and statistical analysis.
• Experience with global customer coordination and aligning project schedules to customer milestones.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering degree (as stated). No alternative-equivalent-degree language was provided.
