Digital IC Design Engineer - Intern
Role Summary
Internship position on the Digital IC Design team. The intern will support RTL design, verification, and implementation activities under the guidance of senior engineers.
The role involves hands-on engineering tasks to help develop digital integrated circuit features and validate design blocks for ASIC/SoC projects.
Experience Level
Entry-level - Internship. Suitable for current students or recent graduates with limited industry experience.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities the intern will perform include:
- Assist with RTL coding and review (Verilog or VHDL) under supervision.
- Develop and run simulations and testbenches to validate design behavior.
- Support synthesis flows, static timing analysis, and ECO activities.
- Debug regressions and investigate failures reported by verification or board bring-up.
- Document experiments, results, and design changes; present findings to the team.
- Collaborate with verification, backend, and system teams to integrate design blocks.

- Must-have: Basic understanding of digital logic and RTL design principles.
- Must-have: Familiarity with Verilog or VHDL and basic simulation tools.
- Must-have: Comfortable using Linux and scripting (Python, Shell, or similar) for automation.
- Must-have: Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Nice-to-have: Exposure to synthesis, static timing analysis, design-for-test, or version control systems (Git).
