Program Management Engineer

Role Summary

Manage cross-functional execution of new product development from Assess Opportunity through Release to Market, ensuring schedule, cost, quality and forecasted return on investment. Work with design, test, manufacturing (wafer fabrication, assembly, test), quality and field teams to deliver products and qualifications.

Member of the engineering/product development organization; the role includes formal and on-the-job development through TI's Career Accelerator Program.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning, coordinating and driving product development projects to release and ROI:

  • Lead cross-functional teams (Design, Marketing, Systems & Applications, Validation, Product & Test Engineering, Firmware/Software, Manufacturing, Field, Quality) on new product releases.
  • Plan and manage projects using MS Project; maintain up-to-date schedules and milestones.
  • Coordinate with wafer fabrication, assembly and test sites to meet schedule, cost and quality targets.
  • Develop and implement qualification and reliability plans; perform product reliability and characterization testing.
  • Work with failure analysis to determine root causes of reliability and qualification failures.
  • Provide direction to team members and external support organizations; drive and motivate team for flawless execution.
  • Provide weekly and monthly status updates to management and interact with customers on milestones, deliveries and special requests.
  • Coordinate material logistics, shipment/assembly/test prioritization and maintain relevant project systems.

Requirements

Must-have skills and abilities:

  • Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams in product development.
  • Proficiency with project planning tools (MS Project) and schedule management.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes (wafer fabrication, assembly, test), product qualification and reliability testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; strong time management and drive for results.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience or exposure to product, test and validation functions in semiconductor or related industries.
  • Familiarity with Galileo or similar product/tracking systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field is required. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is specified.
