Role Summary

Lead and coordinate program engineering activities across multiple interconnected projects in the SerDes program management department. Drive program planning, execution, risk management, reporting, and cross-functional alignment to deliver technical programs on time and on budget.

This role mixes hands-on program oversight, process improvement, and mentoring of other project engineering managers to raise program management maturity across the organization.

Experience Level

Level: Senior. Requires typically 5+ years of program or project management experience within engineering, ideally in semiconductor, IP, or ASIC design environments.

Responsibilities

Accountable for end-to-end program delivery and for improving program management practices across teams.

• Manage full program lifecycle: initiation, definition, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for multiple related projects.
• Monitor and control program budgets, schedules, risks, issues, scope, and milestones.
• Define and refine program/project management standards, tools, and methodologies; drive operational excellence.
• Coordinate cross-project activities within the SerDes program to maximize synergy and reduce risk.
• Lead status reviews with cross-functional teams, sponsors, and stakeholders; provide clear, actionable reporting.
• Provide reporting and metrics to senior leadership to support decision-making and visibility.
• Coach and mentor project engineering managers and foster consistent project management practices in a matrix environment.
• Identify and resolve program-level roadblocks to enable organizational agility and meet customer commitments.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role; certifications and degrees are summarized separately below.

• 5+ years of program/project management experience within engineering, preferably in semiconductor, IP, or ASIC design contexts.
• Strong understanding of IP and SoC development processes, including technical and lifecycle aspects.
• Hands-on experience with UNIX environments, MS Project, and MS Excel for planning and tracking.
• Experience with Business Intelligence / data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) for reporting and analysis.
• Proven ability to implement and improve project management methodologies and tools in a matrix organization.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management, risk identification/mitigation, and cross-functional leadership.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex technical status to diverse audiences.
• Experience mentoring or coaching other project managers and driving team performance.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience. Formal project management certification or demonstrable equivalent experience (examples: PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) is expected.
