Production Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design custom semiconductor wafer test assemblies and production fixturing at Translarity's Hutto, TX manufacturing facility. Collaborate with manufacturing teams and customers to optimize product performance while maintaining design-for-manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on design, manufacturing support, and production problem resolution.
- Design custom probe cards, test assemblies, and production fixturing for in-house manufacture.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, and customers to implement DFM improvements.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and PDM records.
- Support process documentation, assembly instructions, and verification activities.
- Learn and operate metrology tools to verify dimensional and functional requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical abilities.
- Strong user of SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
- Proficient with 2D CAD and creating manufacturing drawings.
- Understanding and application of basic GD&T.
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in small teams.
- Willingness and ability to learn metrology tools and production processes.
- Experience supporting DFM and working with electronic assemblies preferred.
- Nice-to-have: experience with MEMS probe technology or semiconductor test equipment.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
