Job Title
Production Application Engineer, Enterprise
Role Summary
The Production Application Engineer will be the primary technical interface with contract manufacturers (CMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs) for GPU server products during L6, L10 and L11 production phases. The role owns NPI builds through ramp to high‑volume production and drives issue resolution, yield management, and process improvements at contract factories.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically requires 5+ years of experience in hardware systems, production, manufacturing, or datacenter product engineering.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include ownership of NPI and production activities, technical leadership with manufacturing partners, and cross-functional coordination to meet production KPIs.
- Own NPI builds from early engineering through production ramp and ensure smooth handoff to high‑volume manufacturing.
- Lead debug/test configuration and flows; drive failure analysis (FA), fast issue triage, and bonepile recovery.
- Serve as the primary technical lead for ODMs/CMs on production readiness, line setup, test, and yield for L6/L10/L11.
- Coordinate with internal HW/FW/SW and validation teams to identify, track, and close critical bugs and ensure designs are manufacturable (DFM/DFT).
- Be on site at factories as needed to resolve issues in real time and support partners in meeting production KPIs.
- Drive continuous process improvements and monitor production metrics and yield performance.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills; nice-to-have items listed separately.
-
Must-have: 5+ years in hardware systems, production, manufacturing, or datacenter product engineering.
-
Must-have: Experience working with ODMs/contract manufacturers on NPI and mass production.
-
Must-have: Solid understanding of assembly, test, and quality processes and their impact on yield.
-
Must-have: Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills; clear technical communication in English (spoken and written).
-
Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience in datacenter product engineering, failure analysis, debugging, or GPU server design.
-
Nice-to-have: Proven track record managing production schedules and monitoring yield rates at factories.
-
Nice-to-have: Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with FMEA, RCA, and DOE methodologies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience in production/manufacturing engineering may be acceptable.
