Job Title

Product & Yield Engineer (Data-focused)

Role Summary

Hands-on engineering role focused on product, yield and manufacturing data analysis across New Product Introduction, Yield Engineering and Product Quality. The position requires analysing large, complex semiconductor datasets to identify trends, isolate sources of variation, improve yield and reliability, and deliver clear technical insight to engineering teams and manufacturing partners.

Role may require export-control eligibility checks and worldwide travel when needed.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Prior semiconductor experience in Product, Test, Yield, Data Analytics or Quality Engineering is expected; specific years of experience are not stated.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze semiconductor manufacturing and test datasets to identify trends, yield loss mechanisms, spatial patterns, outliers and lot-to-lot variation.
  • Perform root-cause investigations across wafer fab, assembly and test stages and correlate findings across manufacturing steps.
  • Develop automated analyses, dashboards and repeatable workflows for monitoring yield and production quality.
  • Apply statistical methods (SPC, Cp/Cpk, distributions, hypothesis testing, correlation and trend analysis) to support engineering conclusions.
  • Collaborate with NPI, yield, reliability and manufacturing teams to prioritize corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Produce concise visualizations, reports and technical presentations for internal teams and manufacturing partners.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable semiconductor industry experience in Product, Test, Yield, Data Analytics or Quality Engineering spanning NPI to production.
  • Proven experience analysing manufacturing and test data (including WAT, WS/CP and FT datasets) to identify correlations, excursions and yield signatures.
  • Practical experience with semiconductor data-analysis tools such as yieldHUB, Spotfire, JMP or equivalent.
  • Strong data mining, statistical analysis and root-cause investigation skills with the ability to convert complex datasets into actionable engineering recommendations.
  • Ability to combine data from multiple sources and manufacturing stages to investigate complex product and process issues.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to present concise visualisations and technical reports.
  • Ability to work independently on ambiguous technical problems and manage multiple investigations in parallel.
  • Willing and able to travel worldwide when required.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience automating yield-monitoring, anomaly-detection or reporting workflows.
  • Experience working with large datasets using SQL, Python or similar data-analysis tools.
  • Experience developing dashboards, standard analytical journals or reusable engineering analysis frameworks.
  • Experience working with Far East suppliers and manufacturing partners.

Education Requirements

Preferred: Bachelor's degree or above in Electronics, Microelectronics, Semiconductor Physics, Engineering or a similar discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
