Product Validation Intern - Digital Backend
Role Summary
Assist in qualification and validation of backend digital implementation tools and flows. The role focuses on reviewing quality-of-results (QoR) across synthesis, placement, clock-tree synthesis (CTS), routing, and post-route optimization, and supporting regression testing.
Work closely with engineering teams to reproduce issues, run tests, and improve tool flows.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Suitable for current students or recent graduates; no specific years of professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Assist in qualification and validation of backend product tools.
- Review and analyze QoR across the digital implementation flow: synthesis, placement, CTS, routing, and post-route optimization.
- Develop, run, and maintain regression tests; collect and report results.
- Automate test flows and create reproducible validation scripts.
- Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues, verify fixes, and improve flows.
Requirements
Must-have and expected skills:
- Good knowledge of IC design concepts.
- Familiarity with Linux.
- Strong teamwork, patience, responsibility, and self-motivation.
- Good communication in both Chinese and English.
- Commitment to work as an intern at least 4 days per week for more than 6 months.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with digital implementation flow (synthesis, place, CTS, route, optimization).
- Scripting skills (TCL, Perl, Shell, Python).
- Knowledge of AI, especially agentic AI.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Science (CS) required.
