Job Title

Product Validation Engineer II (Solver)

Role Summary

Join the Test & Validation team to design and scale automated performance and accuracy validation for the CFD/thermal solver and end-to-end workflows used in electronics cooling and data-center simulation.

Work within an Agile SDLC to expand regression coverage, verify physics correctness, validate performance on multi-core/HPC/Rescale platforms, and support reliable software releases.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires 2+ years in automation testing or validation roles with exposure to CFD/thermal validation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include owning and extending automated validation suites for the Solver and validating end-to-end platform workflows.

  • Create, maintain, and evolve automated tests for steady-state and transient scenarios; compare results across versions and hardware profiles.
  • Expand coverage for airflow, temperature, and heat-transfer modeling in electronics assemblies and enclosures.
  • Curate scenario libraries and 3D/1D flow-network cases to validate platform behavior for data-center workflows (raised floors, external environment, power schedules, failure scenarios).
  • Implement Python-based test harnesses and automation; integrate suites with CI and track trends and defects in JIRA.
  • Run and verify tests on Windows and Linux; execute jobs on multi-core/HPC clusters and Rescale.
  • Triage defects with clear reproducible details and follow issues through to fix and release readiness.
  • Participate in sprint planning, estimations, design reviews, and contribute to release go/no-go decisions and concise internal test documentation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 2+ years in test automation or validation with experience building or extending automation frameworks (Python or equivalent).
  • Strong CFD/thermal fundamentals with hands-on validation experience for electronics cooling or data-center airflow/thermal behavior.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux test environments.
  • Experience running jobs on multi-core/HPC clusters and Rescale platforms.
  • Agile testing experience and familiarity with JIRA for defect tracking; experience integrating tests with CI.

Nice-to-have:

  • Performance benchmarking experience.
  • Visual Studio experience.
  • Data-center IT experience.
  • ISTQB Foundation certification.

Education Requirements

Engineering degree expected (e.g., Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar). ISTQB Foundation is listed as an optional certification. The posting does not state an explicit equivalent-experience clause.
