Product Validation Engineer II
Role Summary
Work on development and validation of Innovus/Tempus back-end and signoff tools to ensure correct static timing analysis across physical design flows. The team focuses on test-suite development, timing verification, and validation of STA/EXT features used in place-and-route signoff.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical experience guidance: MS with 1–2 years of digital design experience, or BS with 4+ years of digital design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain test suites to validate STA/EXT quality and timing flow correctness.
- Validate Innovus/Tempus back-end and signoff tool features across P&R stages.
- Verify advanced STA/EXT features (SOCV, CPPR, latch analysis, qrcTech, SPEF, etc.).
- Perform timing analysis checks and ensure correctness at each stage of place-and-route.
- Automate validation tasks with scripting and integrate tests into validation workflows.
- Document findings and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve validation issues.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Strong familiarity with STA concepts, Liberty, RC characterization, and P&R timing.
- Proficiency with Linux and strong scripting skills (Python, Tcl, Shell); familiarity with AI-assisted scripting is desirable.
- Experience developing test suites and automating validation flows.
- Knowledge of back-end/signoff tools (Innovus/Tempus) or equivalent timing tools.
- Good teamwork, written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with SPEF, SOCV, CPPR, latch timing analysis, or qrcTech.
- Prior work on signoff/STA feature verification in a production EDA environment.
Education Requirements
MS degree with 1–2 years of digital design experience, or a Bachelors degree with 4+ years of digital design experience as stated in the source.
