Product Validation Engineer

Role Summary

The Product Validation Engineer will validate and characterize first-silicon performance for Allegro's magnetic and power sensor ICs. This role works with Validation Leads, Analog Design, Systems Engineering, and Test Engineering to develop bench test setups, automate data collection, analyze results, and support milestone gate reviews.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early-career. The posting specifies 1–3 years of hands-on semiconductor lab evaluation, characterization, or equivalent academic/internship validation experience.

Responsibilities

Execute silicon validation plans and produce analyzed results that demonstrate compliance with product requirements and datasheet specifications.

• Develop, debug, and run automated bench test setups and scripts (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB) across voltage and temperature corners (-40°C to 150°C).
• Characterize analog and mixed-signal parameters (noise, offset, linearity, sensitivity, ADC/DAC behavior) versus requirements.
• Support design and assembly of custom evaluation hardware and socketed test boards; participate in layout reviews.
• Perform bench-to-system and bench-to-ATE correlation studies; help define robust test limits and trimming behavior.
• Document and track silicon anomalies and participate in root-cause debug with design leads.
• Compile characterization data and contribute summaries and parameter presentations for project milestones.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for day-one contribution.

• 1–3 years hands-on semiconductor lab evaluation, characterization, or relevant internship experience.
• Proficiency with bench test equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, SMUs, AWGs, DMMs.
• Experience with test automation languages and scripting (Python preferred; LabVIEW, MATLAB, or C/C++ acceptable).
• Foundational understanding of analog mixed-signal circuits (op-amps, bandgaps, regulators, ADCs, sensor front-ends).
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, SENT, or CAN.
• Basic statistical data-analysis skills (histograms, standard deviation, Cpk, corner analysis).
• Strong analytical problem-solving, clear written/verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
