Product/Test Engineer

Role Summary

As a Product, Test, or Validation Engineer on TI's product development team in Malaysia, you will support development and implementation of test software and hardware, product debugging, test optimization, qualification and validation to ensure product quality and manufacturability for assigned IC product lines. You will work with cross-functional teams, manufacturing sites and customers to resolve quality issues and improve yield, cost and capacity.

This role includes participation in TI's Career Accelerator Program (CAP) with structured technical and professional training for new graduates.

Experience Level

Entry-level; suitable for new graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement strategies to meet profitability targets through new product development, cost reduction, capacity expansion and yield improvement.
• Serve as the primary operational contact for assigned product portfolio and coordinate cross-functional problem solving.
• Support product qualification, reliability testing and failure verification; drive corrective actions and documentation.
• Develop, optimize and qualify test software and hardware; validate automated test equipment and release tests to manufacturing.
• Perform product debugging, characterization and validation using bench setups and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with wafer fabrication and assembly manufacturing sites to resolve production issues and improve processes.
• Analyze production and test data to identify trends and implement process improvements.
• Communicate technical status and results to stakeholders and maintain clear documentation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and competencies:

• Fundamental knowledge of electronics and basic test concepts, including schematics, layouts and digital components.
• Familiarity with data analysis and manufacturing systems.
• Understanding of hardware concepts and basic software development principles.
• Strong verbal and written communication, teamwork, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly and manage time to meet project milestones.

Preferred:

• Programming skills in C/C++; LabVIEW recommended.
• Exposure to automated test equipment (tester hardware and software) and release-to-manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of analog circuitry (op-amps, DC/DC power, data converters, sensing) and device debug.
• Internship experience in the semiconductor or electronics industry.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field is required per the posting; cumulative GPA ~3.4/4.0 noted. The role is aimed at recent graduates (0–2 years experience). Internship experience in semiconductor/electronics is preferred.
