Product Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Validate and monitor the digital implementation flow and quality-of-result (QOR) for Cadence products. Perform deep analysis of design QOR metrics, report findings to R&D, and help improve tool robustness and product quality.

Maintain and enhance validation systems and automation to improve productivity and reproducibility. Role is part of the product validation/EDA team based in Shanghai.

Experience Level

Mid-level (typical guideline: 3–7 years of relevant experience).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include monitoring flow outputs, analyzing results, and developing validation automation:

• Monitor digital implementation/flow outputs and quality-of-result (QOR).
• Perform deep analysis of design QOR metrics and identify root causes and trends.
• Provide actionable feedback to R&D and product teams to improve tool robustness and result quality.
• Develop, maintain, and automate validation systems, test frameworks, and scripts.
• Create reproducible test cases, benchmarks, and documentation for validation efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to verify fixes and validate releases.

Requirements

• Must-have: Hands-on experience with digital ASIC/SoC implementation flows and quality-of-result analysis.
• Must-have: Experience developing and maintaining automation or validation scripts and test systems.
• Must-have: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to translate metrics into actionable engineering feedback.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with EDA tools and common scripting languages (for example Python, Tcl, Shell).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with continuous integration, test automation frameworks, or build systems.
