Product/Test Engineering (NPI/NTI)

Role Summary

Perform semiconductor test and product engineering for new product introduction (NPI) and new technology introduction (NTI). Work with design, test, and product teams to define test requirements, develop automated test programs, characterize and debug silicon, and support production ramps.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities focus on test development, validation, and production support throughout product introduction and ramp.

  • Define test plans based on product specifications and ATE capabilities.
  • Develop automated test programs for ATE with attention to coverage and cost effectiveness.
  • Characterize and debug new silicon in collaboration with design and product engineering teams.
  • Translate system and product requirements into test requirements and test implementations.
  • Design for testability and contribute to automatic test software generation.
  • Perform bench validation and characterization to verify test methods and specifications.
  • Innovate test methodologies to reduce development time and manufacturing costs.
  • Support production ramps, troubleshoot production problems, and lead yield-enhancement and cost-reduction efforts.
  • Define and implement parallel test concepts and plan project activities with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain knowledge derived from the posting.

  • High-level programming: C, C++, or Java.
  • Experience with software revision control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
  • Knowledge of CMOS fabrication technology.
  • Assembly programming experience.
  • Understanding of digital systems and circuits.
  • Reliability testing knowledge (e.g., HVST, HTOL).
  • Statistical data analysis skills.
  • Logic design and RTL coding experience.
  • Familiarity with microprocessor architecture.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, foreign equivalent, or a related field.
