Product Test Engineer, RF
QualcommJob Title
Product Test Engineer, RF
Role Summary
The RF Product Development and Test Engineering group develops test solutions for highly integrated RF transceiver ICs and modules. This role designs ATE test solutions (hardware and test programs), performs device characterization and first-silicon debug, and collaborates with design, systems, manufacturing and quality teams to move products into production.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical candidates have multiple years of RF/test engineering experience; hiring guidance in the posting suggests roughly 4+ years of experience.
Responsibilities
Accountabilities include developing test solutions and driving product characterization and production test readiness.
- Design and implement test solutions on Automated Test Equipment (ATE), including hardware design and test program development.
- Create characterization plans, execute first-silicon debug, and perform device characterization.
- Analyze measurement data using statistical techniques and generate actionable conclusions to improve yield and quality.
- Work with cross-functional teams (Design, System Engineering, Customer Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing) to meet customer sampling criteria and production requirements.
- Develop test plans from specifications and execute test campaigns to validate RF products.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, plus preferred additions listed separately.
- Must-have: Strong understanding of RF transceivers or analog devices and RF measurement techniques (noise figure, gain/power, ACLR, linearity, phase noise).
- Must-have: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; experience creating and executing test plans.
- Must-have: Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and production test considerations.
- Must-have: Experience with statistical analysis tools and techniques for test and quality data.
- Must-have: Effective communication skills and ability to work independently under schedule pressure.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with Teradyne UltraFlex ATE development.
- Nice-to-have: System-level knowledge and experience with Six Sigma / Statistical Process Control.
