Job Title

Product/Test Engineer (NPI/NTI)

Role Summary

Perform semiconductor test engineering for new product introduction (NPI) and new technology introduction (NTI). Work with product, design, and test teams to define and implement test plans, develop automated test programs, and characterize and debug new silicon.

Responsible for improving test methodology, supporting production ramps, and reducing test cost and yield issues through cross-functional technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include planning and executing test strategies for new products and supporting production.

  • Define test plans with design and test teams based on ATE capabilities and product specifications.
  • Develop and validate automated test programs for ATE emphasizing coverage and cost-effectiveness.
  • Characterize and debug new silicon in collaboration with design and product engineering teams.
  • Translate product and system requirements into test requirements and design-for-test (DFT) concepts.
  • Perform bench validation, characterization, and reliability testing.
  • Support production ramps and troubleshoot manufacturing test issues; implement yield-improvement solutions.
  • Lead initiatives for test cost reduction, parallel-test concepts, and test methodology innovation.
  • Plan and coordinate project activities across multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools.

  • High-level programming: C, C++, or Java.
  • Software revision control: Git, Bitbucket.
  • Assembly programming.
  • Digital systems and circuit design; logic design and RTL.
  • Microprocessor architecture.
  • CMOS fabrication technology knowledge.
  • Reliability testing experience (HVST, HTOL) and statistical data analysis.
  • Experience developing test programs and working with automated test equipment (ATE).

Nice-to-have: additional ATE platform familiarity and experience in test cost-reduction methodologies.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (foreign equivalent accepted).
