Role Summary

The Product Test Engineer develops, optimizes, and maintains semiconductor test solutions across the product lifecycle. The role supports New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining production to ensure product quality, yield, and reliable test execution.

Experience Level

Entry-level — 0–2 years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, product engineering, or a related role.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include bringing up test programs for new products, sustaining production tests, and driving yield and reliability improvements.

• Lead NPI test activities: develop test plans, bring up test programs, and support production ramp-up.
• Manage test and handler requirements for NPI and sustaining products.
• Modify and maintain test program software to meet new test specifications.
• Perform yield analysis, identify root causes of yield loss, and implement corrective actions.
• Support failure analysis by providing detailed test data and assisting in root-cause identification.
• Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and yield analyses.
• Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, processes, and equipment utilization.
• Collaborate with Design, Product Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and abilities for immediate contribution.

• Understanding of semiconductor device physics and digital/analog circuit design principles.
• Proficiency developing test programs on ATE platforms.
• Programming or scripting experience (C/C++, Python, or similar).
• Familiarity with statistical data analysis tools for yield and characterization (e.g., JMP, Spotfire).
• Knowledge of test methodologies such as DFT and DPM concepts.
• Experience with test hardware design and debug.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to manage multiple tasks independently.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
