Role Summary

Join Meta's Manufacturing Quality Engineering team to enable large-scale AI hardware production. The role focuses on manufacturing readiness for advanced compute and GPU platforms, partnering with design engineers and global manufacturers to ensure quality and reliability through NPI and mass production.

This position combines hands-on hardware validation, test and process development, and cross-functional program execution to deliver hyperscale compute infrastructure.

Experience Level

Mid-level: minimum 6+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field (as stated in the posting).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include driving manufacturing readiness, test and validation, and resolving production issues to meet yield and reliability targets.

• Drive manufacturing metrics (yield, throughput, cycle time, first-pass yield) through NPI and MP and escalate risks.
• Develop, validate, and implement manufacturing and test requirements for compute and GPU systems from NPI to mass production.
• Evaluate and improve test coverage, methodologies, and infrastructure to meet reliability and performance targets at scale.
• Lead hardware debugging, root cause analysis, and Failure Analysis and Corrective Actions (FACA) to resolve hardware issues and reach yield goals.
• Support technical transition from prototype builds to high-volume manufacturing and resolve open design and test issues.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on power optimization and performance tuning during manufacturing validation.
• Travel internationally to supplier sites as needed (up to ~25%).

Requirements

Must-have:

• 6+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a closely related field.
• Program and project management experience supporting complex hardware from NPI through high-volume MP launch.
• Hands-on experience testing and validating compute and GPU systems; working knowledge of hardware architecture.
• Experience in process development, bring-up, and qualification across final assembly, test, and packout processes.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with stakeholder teams and drive technical alignment through proposals, design reviews, and presentations.

Nice-to-have:

• Scripting test cases for compute/storage/AI servers and racks; experience with test automation frameworks.
• Experience with international contract manufacturers and data center hardware manufacturing at hyperscale.
• Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
• Experience with GPU architectures, high-performance computing systems, or AI/ML infrastructure hardware.
• Background in reliability engineering methods (accelerated life testing, failure mode analysis) and proactive problem solving for ill-defined issues.

Education Requirements
