Product Quality Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for managing customer complaints and driving root-cause analysis, corrective actions and cross-functional alignment for an assigned product group at Nexperia's Manchester site. The role protects customer satisfaction and the company's market reputation by improving product reliability and quality processes.

Experience Level

Mid-level — requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in product quality, reliability, or semiconductor-related roles.

Responsibilities

Key duties include:

• Own complaint handling for the assigned product group and respond to customer requests.
• Lead structured problem-solving (8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys) and root-cause analysis; define containment and sustainable corrective actions.
• Monitor and follow up on quality improvement actions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Document, analyse, and evaluate quality and reliability data (yield, FMEA, reliability metrics).
• Support product qualification activities and ensure adherence to Nexperia, AEC and customer-specific quality procedures.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities and present findings to customers and internal teams.
• Travel occasionally as required.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Solid understanding of semiconductor devices and applications.
• Knowledge of quality and reliability standards (e.g. AEC-Q101) and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Familiarity with measurement methods, test equipment and device testing environments.
• Experience documenting and analysing quality/reliability data; familiarity with statistical methods preferred.
• Good communication and presentation skills; ability to coordinate across functions and cultures.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in wafer fab and assembly processes.
• Working experience with Small Signal MOSFETs.
• Experience with statistical analyses such as Weibull analysis.
• German language skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related technical field, plus at least 3 years' relevant experience.
