Product Planning Engineer – DSP / RF
Role Summary
Responsible for product planning of next-generation AMD Adaptive and Embedded Computing products with a focus on DSP and RF technologies. Drive definition and alignment of product capabilities across signal processing, RF conversion, and compute integration including AI/ML.
Serve as a technical point of contact across business, architecture, and engineering teams; translate system-level signal chain requirements into product definitions and IP strategies and align roadmap and IP development with market needs.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include translating system requirements into product and IP definitions and aligning product roadmaps with engineering and business stakeholders.
- Drive product planning for FPGAs, Adaptive SoCs, Embedded x86, and semi-custom products focusing on DSP, RF, and AI/ML capabilities.
- Translate system-level signal chain and compute requirements into product definitions and IP requirements (RF converters, DSP blocks, AI/ML integration).
- Collaborate with architecture, IP, and engineering teams to define performance and functionality that meet market requirements.
- Align product roadmap decisions with IP development, solution requirements, and execution plans.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across product planning, architecture, and execution teams.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform product strategy.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and work experience required for the role.
- Demonstrated technical depth in digital signal processing (DSP), RF systems, AI/ML acceleration, or mixed-signal systems.
- Experience with product definition, roadmap planning, and translating system requirements into IP/product requirements.
- Proven ability to work across architecture, IP, and engineering teams; strong cross-functional communication and influence.
- Experience in the semiconductor industry (architecture or system design for FPGA, ASIC, or Adaptive SoC-based systems) and customer engagement experience.
- Ability to drive technical decisions independently and be accountable for accuracy and completeness of results.
- Strategic business acumen; ability to build business cases, contribute to financial models, and justify investments.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with mixed-signal or data-converter architectures, heterogeneous integration, or chiplet-based architectures.
- Domain experience in wireless infrastructure, aerospace & defense, test & measurement, or data center systems.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (as stated in the posting).
