Product Line Director, AMS
ChipAgentsJob Title
Product Line Director, Analog & Mixed-Signal (AMS)
Role Summary
Lead the AMS product vertical from customer problem definition through R&D, evaluation, and sales. Own AMS Behavioral Modeling and AMS Layout product lines and act as the primary customer-facing product leader.
Work cross-functionally with R&D, AI engineering, and Sales to define roadmap, validate value with customers, and convert evaluations into revenue.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 7+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal design, AMS verification, or EDA/product roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include product ownership, customer engagement, roadmap and go-to-market leadership, and cross-functional execution.
- Own the AMS vertical end-to-end: customer problem definition → R&D direction → demo → evaluation → sales conversion.
- Validate value with customers through on-site engagement with analog designers, modeling engineers, and layout teams; identify wedge use cases and willingness to pay.
- Define and prioritize the product roadmap for behavioral modeling and layout automation, including coverage, quality targets, and productivity metrics.
- Shape positioning, pricing input, demo flows, and evaluation success criteria; support Sales through pilots and conversions.
- Set measurable targets, track evaluation outcomes and revenue signals, and prioritize backlog items including data, tooling, and headcount.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, AI/software engineering, and Sales to ensure feasibility, product stability, and account strategy.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional experience.
- 7+ years in analog/mixed-signal design, AMS verification, or EDA/product roles; deep familiarity with the AMS design flow (schematic → behavioral modeling → simulation → layout → DRC/LVS signoff).
- Working knowledge of behavioral modeling practices (Verilog-A/AMS, real-number modeling, model validation) and analog layout constraints (matching, parasitics, DRC/LVS closure).
- Established network and credibility with analog design and CAD teams; ability to engage senior designers and technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of validating product value with customers and converting evaluations into revenue.
- Strong business judgment with ability to quantify technical value in monetary terms and prioritize accordingly.
- Program-management and execution capability to drive R&D, engineering, and sales teams to a shared plan.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting to senior customers and coordinating with researchers.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience maturing early-stage capabilities to production-quality products.
- Prior product management or product line management experience in EDA, semiconductor IP, or AI-for-engineering tools.
- Experience defining evaluation criteria and success metrics for enterprise pilots.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
