Product Engineering Manager, Senior (WVB)
Role Summary
The Product Engineering Manager leads product planning and execution from development through production release for semiconductor products. The role ensures designs are manufacturable and reliable and that shipped products meet specification and quality goals.
The manager acts as the central product liaison across design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, reliability and marketing and is responsible for cost/profit control and developing team members.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead product development planning and manage execution through production release.
- Ensure product designs meet manufacturability and reliability requirements.
- Ensure shipped products meet specifications and quality targets; provide sustaining post-release support.
- Serve as central interface among design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, reliability and marketing teams.
- Formulate and execute long-term plans for cost and profit control.
- Select, develop, evaluate and manage personnel to ensure efficient operation of the function.
Requirements
Required and preferred skills and experience.
Must-have:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant product engineering or product management experience.
- Experience taking products from development into production, with focus on manufacturability and reliability.
- Data-driven approach and experience with basic data analysis to inform decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills; proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with new package design and development.
- Familiarity with automotive industry requirements and production manufacturing processes.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes and strong time-management to deliver projects on schedule.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Systems is required (as stated in the posting).
