Job Title

Product Engineering Manager

Role Summary

Lead a team of 4–7 product engineers for an AMD server product, responsible for characterization, test definition and execution across PVT (process, voltage, temperature) corners to meet quality, yield, test-time and schedule targets.

Drive post-silicon debug and closure, coordinate with Product Engineering, Fabrication, Platform Validation and Software teams to optimize performance and improve yield.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include delivering product definitions, test plans, and resolving post-silicon issues:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 4–7 product engineers.
  • Develop characterization and test coverage strategies.
  • Define pre-silicon pattern requirements and drive design verification deliveries.
  • Execute characterization and test plans on new silicon.
  • Drive yield and quality improvements across wafer sort, final test, and system-level test (SLT).
  • Optimize product performance working across Product Engineering, Fab, Platform Validation, and Software Engineering.
  • Ensure product meets customer quality and company yield, test time, and schedule requirements.

Requirements

Must-have experience and skills:

  • Proven leadership managing small engineering teams and driving technical alignment.
  • Experience executing silicon characterization and test plans and closing post-silicon issues.
  • Experience driving yield, quality, and test-time improvements in semiconductor products.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with design, fabrication, validation, and software groups.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to resolve ambiguity in fast-paced environments.

Preferred (nice-to-have):

  • Familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor process, packaging and test technologies.
  • Experience with DFT features (ATPG scan, memory BIST, JTAG) and at-speed testing.
  • Direct experience defining and validating semiconductor device performance and optimizing test points.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
