Product Engineering Intern
Role Summary
Work as a Product Engineering intern within Advanced Cellular, Connect & Sensor, or High Performance Analog business groups. Projects focus on production test development, yield improvement, and cross-functional process improvement for high-volume semiconductor manufacturing.
This role is part of Qorvo's internship program for enrolled college students and provides mentored, project-based assignments and exposure to engineering leadership.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). Intended for current undergraduate or graduate students; no prior years-of-experience required beyond enrollment in an academic program.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities assigned based on business needs and project scope:
- Develop and maintain high-volume production test plans in collaboration with Design, Test, Applications, and Quality Engineering.
- Apply Statistical Process Control and statistical methods (time-series, capability analysis, ANOVA, multivariate analysis) to monitor and improve test yield.
- Analyze production test data to detect manufacturing defects and verify datasheet compliance.
- Support technical issue resolution and lead or contribute to cross-functional root-cause and continuous-improvement projects using Lean methodologies.
- Document test plans, results, and improvement actions; present findings to engineering and business stakeholders.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications and technical skills expected during the internship.
- Must-have: Analog/digital/RF circuit design coursework or hands-on experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; detail oriented and organized.
- Must-have: Knowledge of scripting languages such as SQL, Python, R, and/or JSL.
- Preferred: Experience with ADS, Cadence, Spotfire, and JMP.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Statistical Process Control and data analysis techniques.
- Not eligible for visa sponsorship for this position.
- Hourly pay range (posted): $31/hr - $42/hr (commensurate with experience and location).
Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program (BS, MS, or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Data Science, Materials Science, Engineering Physics, or a related technical discipline. Minimum GPA: 3.0.
