Product Engineering Architect
Role Summary
Principal product engineer in the Digital and Signoff Group (DSG) responsible for driving development, validation, and customer deployment of physical-design software (Innovus and related tools). Works closely with R&D and customer-engagement teams to influence product direction and ensure successful integration into advanced chip design flows.
Experience Level
Senior — 15–20 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with R&D and customer-engagement teams to define, test, and ship features for physical-design tools.
- Test, validate, and deploy Innovus software at customer sites and resolve integration and workflow issues.
- Debug tool flows and work with synthesis, signoff, and physical-design teams to resolve constraints.
- Provide technical leadership on advanced chip design workflows and influence product direction.
- Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and communicate technical results to stakeholders.
Requirements
Required skills and experience:
- Strong knowledge of IC design and physical-design flow.
- Experience with EDA tools such as Cadence Innovus, Genus, and Cerebrus; strong debug skills.
- Understanding of physical-design constraints: power, clocking, placement, routing, and timing.
- Proficiency in scripting (Tcl, Perl, or Python).
- Ability to work cross-functionally with synthesis, physical-design, and signoff teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle multiple projects under tight schedules.
Education Requirements
BE / BTech / ME / MS / MTech or equivalent practical experience.
