Product Engineer Intern, BS - Summer 2027

Role Summary

Summer internship on a product engineering team focused on advanced ASIC products. The role supports silicon bring-up, test development, and data-driven infrastructure to improve yield, quality, and reliability.

Work closely with ASIC Design, Applications, and Test Engineering across the product lifecycle to develop, debug, and optimize test solutions and tooling.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship (summer). Intended for current undergraduate students with limited professional experience.

Responsibilities

Contribute to silicon validation, test development, and data analysis to support product qualification and manufacturing improvements.

  • Support silicon bring-up and validate device features and test methodologies.
  • Analyze wafer sort and final test data to assess product performance and trends.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Product and Test Engineering issues.
  • Drive yield and test time improvements through data analysis and root-cause investigation.
  • Build automated dashboards and tools to provide engineering insights.
  • Use scripting and statistical tools (Python, VBA, JMP) for analysis and correlation studies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ASIC Design, Applications, Test Engineering).

Requirements

Key skills and attributes required for success in the internship.

  • Solid understanding of circuit theory and semiconductor device physics.
  • Proficiency in programming or scripting: Python; familiarity with C/C++ and VBA is desirable.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools and data-driven problem solving.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills; detail-oriented and proactive.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot test and product issues and to implement practical solutions.
  • Must be eligible to access export-controlled information; non-U.S. citizens may be subject to an export license review.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Relevant coursework includes digital electronics, analog electronics, and VLSI design. (The posting notes additional compensation may be available for PhD interns.)
