Product Engineer II - P&R

Role Summary

Work as a product engineer specializing in place-and-route (P&R) physical implementation and foundry enablement. The role supports foundry reference flow validation, techfile (routing) enablement and correlation between in-design flows and sign-off flows, and interfaces with customers and Cadence R&D.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience guidance: approximately 1+ years professional experience with a Master’s degree or 3+ years with a Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

Core duties include technical support, validation, and coordination across customers, foundries, and internal R&D:

• Provide foundry enablement and support foundry reference flow validation.
• Validate and maintain P&R techfiles and routing enablement flows.
• Act as chip-level physical implementation expert to correlate in-design and sign-off flows and resolve implementation issues.
• Deliver timely Cadence physical implementation tool solutions to customers (on-site and off-site).
• Coordinate and escalate technical issues with headquarters R&D and product engineering teams at other sites.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for the role.

• Practical experience in physical implementation (P&R) domain and techfile creation/validation.
• Hands-on, in-depth experience with dominant P&R tools (e.g., Innovus or ICC).
• Experience with advanced technology nodes (beyond 28nm) and physical implementation challenges at those nodes.
• Experience working with foundries and customers to enable and validate flows.
• Good communication skills; ability to work with internal teams and external customers.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
