Product Engineer

Role Summary

Product Engineer on the Aerospace & Defense Product Development team (ADEF Prod Dev). Evaluate reliability, characterize and improve RF/microwave modules and electronic packaging throughout development and production. Lead testing, qualification, failure analysis and cross-functional design/process improvements to ensure product readiness for customers.

Entry-level / Early-career β€” typically 2+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include:

  • Independently evaluate, characterize, troubleshoot, and perform complex rework of RF/microwave modules.
  • Collaborate with RF designers and mechanical engineers to recommend design and process improvements.
  • Plan and execute ATP and DVT tests; summarize and communicate results in reports for internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Lead breadboard testing during design phases and provide design recommendations.
  • Lead product qualification activities and associated documentation.
  • Support failure analysis and root-cause determination for returned or failing units.
  • Analyze process and product data; present conclusions and improvement recommendations to the product team.
  • Document and present findings for development, sustaining, and customer product support as required.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and abilities:

  • Firm grasp of basic analog RF and microwave electronics concepts.
  • Experience with RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, network and spectrum analyzers, power meters, switching matrices).
  • Familiar with RF measurements such as compression (P1dB), phase noise, gain, spurious emissions, and S-parameter measurements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, complex rework, and judgment skills for hardware debug.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare clear technical reports.
  • Good organization and analytical skills, including data analysis and problem solving.

Nice-to-have / Preferred:

  • Ability to lead technical discussions and training sessions.
  • Familiarity with ADEF markets and customer requirements.
  • Coaching experience for junior engineers and active career development participation.

Education Requirements

BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering. The posting specifies 2+ years of relevant experience alongside the degree requirement.
