Job Title

Product Engineer

Role Summary

Work on ADI's Aerospace and Defense (ADEF) product engineering team to evaluate reliability and develop electronic components, RF/microwave modules, and packaging for defense and aerospace applications. The role supports test, qualification, failure analysis, and cross-functional design/process improvements.

Hands-on role involving lab testing, troubleshooting, and collaboration with RF designers and mechanical engineers to move designs from development to production.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” approximately 2+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include testing, qualification, troubleshooting, and supporting product development and production readiness.

  • Independently evaluate, characterize, troubleshoot, and perform complex rework of RF/microwave modules.
  • Collaborate with RF designers and mechanical engineers to recommend design and process improvements.
  • Perform ATP and DVT testing; summarize and communicate results in technical reports.
  • Lead breadboard testing during design phases and provide design recommendations.
  • Lead product qualification activities and related documentation.
  • Support failure analysis and root-cause investigations.
  • Analyze test and process data; present conclusions and process/product improvement recommendations.
  • Document and present findings for development, sustaining, and customer support.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and competencies:

  • Firm grasp of analog RF and microwave electronics.
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment: oscilloscopes, network and spectrum analyzers, power meters, switching matrices.
  • Experience with RF measurements: compression (P1dB), phase noise, gain, spurious emissions, S-parameter measurements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, rework, and judgment skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organization skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and data analysis ability.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience leading technical discussions or learning sessions.
  • Awareness of aerospace and defense business unit markets and customers.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers.

Education Requirements

BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's in EE) required.
