Product Engineer

Role Summary

The Product Engineer evaluates, debugs, and characterizes analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits to ensure they meet product and manufacturing requirements. The role supports new product development, production release, and ongoing product quality, yield, and cost-improvement activities.

This position works in a cross-functional team with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability and interacts with global manufacturing and technology-development teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” 2–5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include IC evaluation, data analysis, cross-functional coordination, and production support.

  • Collaborate with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability during new product development and production release.
  • Design bench evaluation PCBs and develop characterization programs for bench testing.
  • Perform evaluation, debugging and characterization of integrated circuits to verify product and manufacturing requirements.
  • Work with failure analysis to determine root causes of reliability and qualification failures.
  • Analyze large characterization datasets using statistical methods and tools (example: Spotfire) to set production test limits and predict yield.
  • Support process and package technology development and qualification for new products.
  • Work with global manufacturing to address product quality, yield management, cost reduction, and product spins/derivatives for mature products.

Requirements

Summary of required and preferred skills.

  • Must-have: Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits and their analysis; practical experience with IC evaluation, debugging, and characterization; strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and manage multiple projects.
  • Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with lab equipment (curve tracers, return-loss analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers); familiarity with ATE tester platforms (Teradyne/Eagle); familiarity with JEDEC/AEC qualification standards; basic IC packaging knowledge; experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Spotfire) for yield and test-limit analysis; demonstrated ability to drive results and manage project schedules.
