Job Title

Product Development Lab Engineer

Role Summary

Hands-on Lab Engineer responsible for leading ATE lab operations and post-silicon validation for Data Center GPUs and SoCs. Works with internal product/test engineering teams and external foundry/OSAT partners to manage tester utilization, failure analysis workflows, and logistics.

Primary mission: ensure engineering test continuity, accelerate yield learning and failure analysis, and optimize FA automation across external labs during NPI phases.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically 3+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor lab management, ATE operations, or product engineering support.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on managing external ATE lab operations, failure analysis processes, and related logistics to support NPI and yield improvement.

  • Lead daily operations and resource management at external ATE labs (e.g., OSATs/SPIL) to maximize tester utilization during NPI.
  • Perform reject verification (L1/L2) and PFA isolation for Data Center GPUs and SoCs to accelerate yield learning and DPPM tracking.
  • Manage end-to-end FA chip shipment logistics, work order control, part delivery, and enforce ESD safety protocols.
  • Coordinate weekly technical sync-ups with internal PDE/PTE teams and external foundry engineers on FA status and test program downloads.
  • Implement and verify FA automation tools and flows (e.g., log extractors, Bitmap SEFA) across SMT7 and SMT8 platforms.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; education requirements are listed separately below.

  • 3+ years experience in semiconductor lab management, ATE testing operations, or product engineering support.
  • Proven experience coordinating with external OSATs/ATE labs and familiarity with SPIL or similar operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ATE analysis, Failure Analysis (EFA/PFA) workflows, and ability to interpret complex test logs and Shmoo plots.
  • Effective cross-functional communication and the ability to manage dynamic hardware logistics in fast-paced NPI projects.
  • Experience with SMT7 or SMT8 test environments (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix shell scripting for log parsing and internal tooling (preferred).
  • Background handling high-power Data Center products or Automotive SoCs (preferred).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
