Product Development Engineering Industry Immersion Intern

Role Summary

Six-month, full-time internship on Intel Costa Rica's Product and Test Development team focused on Client Platform development and power integrity platform activities. The role is hybrid and provides hands-on industry experience working on real projects alongside engineering teams.

Work includes project execution, technical analysis, and documenting results to support product development and continuous improvement.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Internship. Suitable for current students or recent graduates; experience expectations are minimal (months of coursework, projects, or prior internships).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities during the internship include supporting project work and learning engineering methods used in product development.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to execute projects aligned with business objectives.
  • Apply technical knowledge and methodologies in Client Platform development.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, project reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Gain hands-on experience with power integrity platform development tools and processes.
  • Document results, lessons learned, and recommendations to inform decisions.
  • Research and explore emerging trends and technologies to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

Summary of required and preferred qualifications. Candidates must be able to work in Costa Rica without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Must-have:

  • Intermediate English proficiency.
  • At least 3 months of exposure to product development practices and methodologies (via coursework, projects, or prior internships).
  • Self-motivation, strong analytical/problem-solving skills, effective communication, and ability to work in teams.
  • Availability for a full-time, fixed-term 6-month internship.
  • Authorization to work in Costa Rica without employer-sponsored immigration support.

Nice-to-have / Preferred:

  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Exposure to electrical engineering fundamentals (circuit analysis, RC/RLC, basic AC analysis).
  • Familiarity with electrical simulation tools such as Sigrity PowerSI, PowerDC, HSpice, MATLAB, or HFSS.
  • Knowledge of PCB design and circuit simulators.

Education Requirements

Enrollment in or recent graduation from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. An English-language resume is required for consideration.
