Job Title
Product Development Engineer
Role Summary
The Product Development Engineer will transfer GPU and assembled-board designs from engineering into mass production, improving test coverage, yield, capacity, and cost for NVIDIA products. The role sits on the Operations Engineering team and collaborates with design, foundry, quality, and test organizations to enable smooth production ramps at worldwide manufacturing sites.
Experience Level
Mid-level (2+ years of relevant experience). Requires practical experience in post-silicon characterization, correlation, qualification and debug.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on manufacturing test process development, yield improvement, and cross-functional problem resolution to support NPI and production ramp.
- Architect, design, and implement efficient manufacturing test processes for GPU chips and assembled boards.
- Identify and implement test processes to improve manufacturing efficiency for leading-edge GPU architectures.
- Analyze yield limiters and drive resolution of failures on Automatic Test Equipment (ATE); lead cross-functional root-cause efforts.
- Define product test requirements and lead NPI bring-up, validation, and characterization to enable production ramp at global sites.
- Optimize placement of test coverage across test and supply chain to reduce cost and production waste.
- Perform detailed data analysis to correlate customer failures with internal production data and identify root cause, risk, and exposure.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional behaviors required for day-to-day success; nice-to-have items that increase competitiveness follow.
-
Must-have: Experience in post-silicon characterization, correlation, qualification and debug.
-
Must-have: Knowledge of ATE testing, DFT methodology, and CMOS device physics.
-
Must-have: Strong communication and presentation skills to technical audiences; methodical problem solving and attention to detail.
-
Must-have: Self-motivated with strong ownership, interpersonal skills, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
-
Nice-to-have: Understanding of DFT insertion techniques (SCAN, ATPG, MBIST, IOBIST).
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with data analytic tools (e.g., O+/JMP) and scripting (Python, Java, or similar).
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with ATE test programs, test systems and hardware (e.g., 93K, uflex) and Failure Diagnosis/Isolation tools for silicon bring-up and debug.
-
Nice-to-have: Strong interest in experimental work and data evaluation.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics is required. The posting specifies 2+ years of experience alongside the degree.
