Job Title

Product Development Engineer

Role Summary

This role sits in Logic Technology Development (Intel Foundry) in the Parametric Test (ETest) area. The engineer will develop and validate electrical/parametric test programs and methods to characterize devices and interconnects, produce key technology performance metrics, and support wafer disposition and high-volume testing.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Typical candidates are early-career engineers or recent graduates with relevant hands-on experience (typically 0–3 years).

Responsibilities

Primary duties focus on creating, validating, and improving electrical test programs and supporting their deployment in production.

  • Define test content and develop parametric test programs for discrete structures used to measure MOS, ROS, interconnects, and parasitics.
  • Validate test designs and analyze results to produce technology performance metrics (PDK, CPK).
  • Develop or improve testing methods, automation, and data-collection systems to increase throughput and quality.
  • Work with device, quality, operations, and module engineers to scale tests to high-volume systems and meet factory capacity constraints.
  • Support wafer disposition decisions and cross-factory test requirements for foundry products.

Requirements

Concise list of must-have skills and preferred skills for the role.

  • Must-have: Hands-on experience designing or measuring electrical circuits or devices; instrument design; device physics; or automating electrical data collection. Practical experience with semiconductor parametric analyzers is required.
  • Ability to analyze electrical test data and work with cross-functional teams (device, quality, operations, factory) to implement test solutions.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with high-volume parametric testers (e.g., 4080 or V93K), design-for-test experience, and scripting or development skills in Linux, C/C++, or Python.

Education Requirements

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 6+ months of relevant experience, OR a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience. Relevant experience may be obtained through industry work, internships, coursework, or research.
