Job Title
Product Development Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for driving testability, manufacturability and manufacturing readiness of integrated circuits from feasibility through high-volume manufacturing. Works with design, process, fab, assembly, quality and manufacturing teams to validate test flows, debug post-silicon issues, and enable production ramp.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting does not specify years of experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include validation, test development, and ramp support for silicon products.
- Develop and validate testability circuits, test flows, and methodologies for new products.
- Evaluate designs on automatic test equipment (ATE); debug functionality and performance issues to root cause.
- Perform ATE device characterization and use data to define datasheet specs and perform yield analysis.
- Collaborate with designers to implement DFT/DFD/DFM features and resolve yield issues before ramp.
- Create and debug software to convert validation vectors and drive complex test equipment.
- Design, test and validate production and validation test hardware; modify/redesign circuits as needed.
- Analyze fallout and test-time data to reduce test time and optimize product cost and bin splits.
- Lead manufacturing readiness activities with fab, assembly and test sites to support engineering and customer samples and production ramp.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required to perform the role.
-
Must-have: Experience with ATE evaluation, device characterization and production test development.
-
Must-have: Proven capability in debugging post-silicon issues and performing yield analysis and bin-split optimization.
-
Must-have: Experience developing or debugging software/firmware/drivers to drive test equipment or convert test vectors.
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience with test hardware design, validation and modification for production use.
-
Must-have: Strong cross-functional collaboration with design, process, fab, assembly and quality teams to support ramp.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with wafer start planning, assembly/test site certification, DLCP and advanced sort/test optimization.
