Role Summary

The Product Development Engineer will lead product development and new product introduction (NPI) activities to move prototypes to volume production while maintaining quality and performance targets.

The role works cross-functionally with Foundry, R&D, manufacturing, failure analysis, and QA teams to perform wafer sorting and yield analysis, develop PDE methodologies, and produce technical specifications and test plans.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires 5+ years of product development experience, including NPI, wafer sorting, and yield analysis.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include leading NPI and sustaining manufacturing readiness, supporting failure analysis, and establishing PDE methodology.

  • Lead development, creation, and production-ready release of new products, ensuring quality and performance targets are met.
  • Supervise the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from prototype to mass production.
  • Perform wafer sorting, analyze yields, and drive yield-improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with Foundry teams for process understanding and provide Failure Analysis (FA) support.
  • Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and QA to resolve issues and coordinate product rollout.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation: specifications, development documents, and test plans.
  • Design and implement Product Development Engineering (PDE) methodologies and infrastructures to support manufacturing at scale.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools, and abilities for immediate contribution.

  • Demonstrated product development experience covering NPI, wafer sorting, and yield analysis.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and JMP for statistical analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with ATE systems (e.g., Advantest V93000).
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience building PDE methodology infrastructures.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with AI/ML or GPU technologies, software development/programming skills, and familiarity with regulatory compliance and industry standards.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
