Job Title

Product Development Engineer

Role Summary

As a DFT Product Development Engineer in the DRAM Technology group, you will develop, implement, validate, and maintain test methods and architectures to ensure DRAM device performance and manufacturability. You will work cross-functionally with Test Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Quality to drive test strategy from build start through production.

This role directly impacts product quality and manufacturing yield for DRAM products.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Partner with Test Manufacturing, Product Engineering, and Design Engineering to define test guidance, set priorities, and drive quality and yield improvements.
  • Develop new DFT concepts and test architectures to increase coverage, improve efficiency, and reduce test time.
  • Debug failures using data analysis, electrical characterization, and physical analysis; identify root causes and adjust test strategies.
  • Optimize test flows and pattern sets to improve throughput and overall efficiency.
  • Support testing of new architectures, process nodes, and device functionality.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Experience with digital circuits, including understanding defect mechanisms and failure modes.
  • Experience designing test methods and developing program test patterns for digital logic.
  • Proficiency debugging test patterns and test scripts across software and hardware environments.
  • Programming experience in one or more of: Python, Java, Unix shell, Perl, Shell, or C++.
  • Strong algorithmic problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Verilog navigation and simulation.

Nice-to-have:

  • Understanding of computer architecture and memory subsystem interactions.
  • Knowledge of DRAM device physics and burn-in characterization methodologies.
  • Experience driving yield improvement initiatives and implementing new DFT methods.
