Product Definition Engineer
Role Summary
Lead product and system definition for high-performance power solutions targeting advanced servers and AI processors. Work cross-functionally with IC design, systems, marketing, validation, partners, and customers to translate system-level requirements into product requirements and API definitions.
The role combines system-level understanding of power for CPU/ASIC platforms with product definition activities across hardware and software.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The role expects extensive industry experience (typical guidance: 15–20 years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on translating market and customer system requirements into product definitions and guiding cross-functional execution.
- Engage with customers, partners, and internal teams to capture system-level challenges and value drivers.
- Translate customer requirements (power, performance, configuration, control, user experience) into clear product and system requirements.
- Define use cases, system APIs, and product collateral that inform design and validation teams.
- Quantify trade-offs between features, performance, and schedule in collaboration with marketing and design.
- Influence cross-functional teams through technical communication and leadership to drive product adoption.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Deep technical strength in high-performance power management for CPUs and high-current ASICs.
- Extensive semiconductor and systems experience (typically 15–20 years).
- Experience defining products that include both hardware and software components.
- Hands-on experience with multiphase DC/DC converters for Intel/AMD/ARM systems.
- Proficiency in programming (Python, C, or similar) for automation and system-level integration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education Requirements
BS degree in engineering required (Electrical Engineering with a focus on power electronics preferred); MS degree preferred.
