Product Application Engineer

Role Summary

Support and grow the Business Group (BG) MOS design pipelines in China by providing technical application support, training, and product expertise. Work with internal sales, FAEs, distributors and customers to accelerate design wins and capture product requirements.

Experience Level

Mid-level — requires about 3+ years of relevant experience in power electronics applications.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and customer-facing support to increase adoption of BG MOS products.

• Work with Account Managers, Business Development, FAEs and distributors to grow MOS design pipelines in China.
• Act as product expert on BG MOS products and roadmaps.
• Provide tier-2 technical support and training to customers and partners.
• Develop trusted relationships with design engineers and intermediaries.
• Capture customer requirements, identify roadmap/white-spot opportunities, and report competitor activity.
• Identify emerging applications and promising customers.
• Support marketing and represent Nexperia at technical events and speaking opportunities.
• Promote and use advanced support tools: device models, evaluation systems, and technical documentation.
• Create engineering design assistance materials: application schematics, demo boards, and simulations.
• Produce technical content to raise awareness and drive engagement within customer design communities.

Requirements

Core qualifications and skills required for the role.

• Minimum 3 years experience in power electronics applications (AC/DC power conversion, motor control, battery management, energy storage, etc.).
• Familiarity with electronic product design processes, including component selection and qualification.
• Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills; high standard of written and spoken English.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, team player with a continuous-improvement mindset.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Experience in automotive, industrial, or commercial applications.
• Must be able to provide tier-2 technical support and training to customers and partners.

Nice-to-have:

• Hands-on experience with MOSFETs and related technologies.
• Familiarity with prominent ECAD systems and simulation tools.
• Experience creating demo boards, application schematics and simulations for customers.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a similar discipline — or equivalent practical experience.
